About Our Methodology
Each institution is evaluated across eight categories on a 1–5 scale. The overall rating is the unweighted average of all category scores. Categories include LGBTQ+ policy inclusion, institutional support and commitment, academic life, student life, housing and residence life, campus safety, counseling and health, and recruitment and retention.
Scores are based on publicly available institutional data, policy documents, and program inventories. Updated annually.
